Thanks so much to all of the parents and grandparents who supported the library at our Grandparents' Day Book Event!  With your help, we raised $702 to purchase 56 new books for the library!  The titles have been ordered and will be ready to check out soon.  Thanks again for helping us be the best library we can be!

The library will be holding a book donation event to coincide with the TMSE PTA's Grandparents' Day Luncheon on Monday, Sept. 13.  If you're eating lunch with your child or grandchild that day, please consider stopping by the library to purchase a book in the child's name.  Give the gift of books!

Parents,
Please join us for the first meeting of this year's library committee on Friday, Sept. 10, at 8 am in the library.  We'll be serving donuts and coffee.  You'll have a chance to meet other committee members, and discuss ways that you can contribute to the library this year.

If you plan on coming, please comment on this post so that I can make sure to have enough donuts for everyone.

Hope to see you there!

TMS Second Grader Ioana Murgulet was a state level winner of the Doodle for Google contest!  A big congratulations to her!!  See her winning drawing online here: http://www.google.com/doodle4google/winners_state.html#grade-k-3

Welcome to a new year at TMS!  We are looking forward to seeing all of you in the library this year!

Ms. Hendrix has a new name now--Mrs. Ezell, but will still answer to the old one, too.  Mrs. Moffitt is returning as well (but with the same name).

Students will be visiting the library with their classes in the coming weeks to go over library rules and procedures, and after that, they'll be free to visit us whenever they need to check out new books.

A limited number of yearbooks are still available for order.  If you would like to buy one, please bring a check for $35, made out to TMS, to the library.  Yearbooks will be sold on a first-come-first serve basis, and supplies are limited.

Those who have already bought yearbooks can come pick them up at Barnes & Noble on Friday, April 16, between 4 and 7 PM, or wait until Monday, when they will be distributed during students' PE classes.

Shop at Barnes & Noble on April 15, 16 and 17!  Mention our school when you check out, and we will receive a portion of the proceeds!  Out-of-town friends and family can also particpate by shopping at barnesandnoble.com and using our school code (10188225) at checkout, so spread the word.

Come into the bookfair on Friday between 4 and 7 PM, and get your yearbook before everyone else gets theirs on Monday at school!  Refreshments will be served.

(Only pre-purchased yearbooks will be distributed—no extras will be sold at the party)

SEE YOU THERE!

Do you like to draw?  You could win a $15,000 scholarship for college, plus $25,000 in technology for the Magnet School  through the Doodle 4 Google Contest!

Contestants submit an original design based on the Google logo, using this year's theme of "If I could do anything, I would...".  To enter, simply download the entry form, parent consent form, and templates below. Choose which template you want to doodle on. When you are done, return all of it, in a manila folder, to Ms. Hendrix in the library.  The deadline is March 23.  We will pick 6 elementary school winners to go on to the state level.  More information is available here.
